Accusation of Ukraine: Russia deliberately targets children?

One person was killed and 16 people were injured, including four children, in a shelling of a hotel in Zaporizhzhya. Ukraine accuses Russia of deliberately targeting children.

Like n-tv.de reported, the Reikarzt Hotel in the city center was home to a summer camp for children aged 6 to 13. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine wrote on Twitter: “They were targeting children. The Reikartz Hotel in Zaporizhzhya, which was hit by a rocket attack by Russian terrorists today, hosts a day camp for children aged 6 to 13. The camp is open daily until 6:00 pm. The attack took place at 7:00 pm. One person was killed and 16 injured. Only by a miracle of timing were the children saved from the Russian killers today.” In addition, the hotel is also said to be home to members of the International Legion, who are fighting for Ukraine.

UN also used the hotel in the past

The Russian Iskander missile that hit the hotel in Zaporizhzhya killed one person and injured 16 others. Local media report that the hotel is frequently used by United Nations staff. The U.N. Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine, Denise Brown, said in an email: “I am appalled by the news that a hotel frequently used by United Nations staff and non-governmental organizations to support people affected by the war has been hit by a Russian attack in Zaporizhzhya.”
