Alarm in Russia: Attack on Moscow

Once again, the Russian capital Moscow has been attacked by drones, according to Russian sources. According to Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, a drone flew into an office tower that had already been hit in attacks over the weekend. This reports the German news website tagesschau.de.

The facade on the 21st floor was reportedly hit in the incident. According to Sobyanin, there is no information of casualties. In addition, several drones were shot down during the night.

One consequence: shortly before the drone attack, traffic at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport was temporarily suspended. This was reported by the Russian news agency Tass. In the meantime, however, normal flight operations have resumed.

There had already been a similar attack on Sunday. Drones damaged two office buildings in Moscow’s business district. Moscow is located about 500 kilometers from the border with Ukraine and has rarely been attacked since the beginning of the war.

At the same time, Russia has continued to shell Ukraine. In Kiev, there is talk of deaths, injuries and “massive” damage. Russia has extended its war of aggression against Ukraine, which is contrary to international law, to the whole country at the end of February 2022.
