Belarus and Russia launch joint maneuver

According to the Ministry of Defense, a maneuver with Russian troops has begun in Belarus. This reports the German news website n-tv.de.

The training is planned for a period of five days. Belarus, which borders Russia and Ukraine, is a close ally of Russia. According to Belarus’ own ‘Hajun’ project, which monitors military activities on the territory, flights of both Belarusian Air Force and Russian Air Force planes and helicopters were recorded on Thursday. It is suspected that these exercises may take place instead of the previously canceled ‘Union Shield’ exercises.

This information has not yet been independently verified / confirmed. For this reason, the report must be evaluated with reservations. In war, it can be advantageous for parties to make false statements about the course of the conflict in order to strengthen their own position or weaken the position of the opponent.
