British Ministry of Defence: Catastrophic attack on warship

Every day since the escalation of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, the British Ministry of Defence publishes its assessment of the conflict. On November 7, 2023, it writes on X:

“As Ukrainian and Russian sources report, a newly built Russian naval corvette was most likely damaged after being hit on the side at the Zaliv shipyard in Kerch on the occupied Crimea on November 4, 2023. The Askold of the KARAKURST class, which was commissioned in 2021, had not been included in the Russian Navy. The incident occurred further east on Crimea than most of the previous long-range attacks claimed by Ukraine. Ukraine’s ability to hit the shipbuilding infrastructure in Crimea will likely prompt Russia to consider relocating further away from the front line, which would delay the delivery of new ships.”

In Russia, the updates from the British Ministry of Defense are seen as propaganda.
