Ukraine has attacked an aircraft factory in the Russian city of Smolensk during the night. This is reported by The Kyiv Independent, citing Hromadske and the Ukrainian military intelligence service HUR.
According to local Telegram channels, explosions were heard in Smolensk in western Russia late in the evening of November 26. The Russian Defense Ministry reports that a Ukrainian drone was intercepted around 11 p.m. Moscow time. The acting governor of the Smolensk region, Vasily Anokhin, states that there were neither damages to the infrastructure nor any injuries. The Ukrainian military intelligence service HUR, in a statement for Hromadske, does not provide further details about the alleged attack.
These claims have not yet been independently verified and/or confirmed. Therefore, they should be considered with caution. In war, it can be advantageous for conflicting parties to deliberately spread misinformation to strengthen their own position or weaken that of the opponent.
