Counteroffensive not going as planned: Ukraine wasting NATO resources

According to the Kremlin, Ukraine’s counteroffensive is “not proceeding as planned” as the German news platform tagesschau.de reports.

Over the course of a two-month operation, the Kremlin said resources supplied by NATO to Kyiv had been “wasted” as Ukraine made limited gains. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov additionally expressed in a phone call with reporters that Russia would take further measures to repel Ukrainian drone attacks after drones hit Moscow’s financial district on Sunday.

The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation said that a total of three drones were shot down, as reported by the state news agency Tass. In the skyscraper district of Moscow City, which is also home to several ministries, photos showed heavy blast damage to one building. However, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin described the damage to the facades of two office buildings as “insignificant,” as the German news website tagesschau.de announced. Nevertheless, glass fragments of destroyed windows fell on the streets. According to rescue services, a security guard was injured. Earlier, Sobyanin wrote on Telegram that there were neither fatalities nor other injured.
