Coup for Kyiv: Ukraine captures Russian commander

Ukraine is engaged in heavy fighting with Russia in the Donetsk region. According to its own statements, the 3rd Separatist Brigade has now captured the leader of the Russian Alga Volunteer Battalion, as reported by the German news platform fr.de.

Fr.de refers to a video that allegedly shows the moment when the Russian commander was captured. Ukrainian soldiers can be seen taking the commander into a building and providing him with water there. The man reportedly says that he and about 120 men entered the region in the morning. “A sh** load of people have died here,” the commander explains in response to a question about the condition of his battalion.

These statements have not yet been verified and/or confirmed by an independent party. Therefore, they should be considered with caution. In war, it can be advantageous for conflicting parties to deliberately spread misinformation to strengthen their own position or weaken the opponent’s.
