A large fire has broken out in Moscow. This reports The Kyiv Independent with reference to data from Russian state media on September 3.
Not much is known about the fire. It broke out in a paint and varnish warehouse in the suburb of Vidnoye in the Moscow region and covers 1200 square meters. It broke out around 23:30 local time. More detailed information about the extent of the damage or possible casualties is not yet available. Also, the report does not specify a cause.
On the Network X videos are circulating which are supposed to show the fire. Flames several meters high and a large-scale firefighting operation can be seen. Parts of the affected building appear to have burned out.
There have been repeated fires around Moscow in recent weeks. Also, the city and the surrounding district of the same name repeatedly faced drone attacks – presumably from Ukraine. Russia further escalated its war of aggression against Ukraine, which began in 2014, in February 2022.
