Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock continues to keep a low profile regarding the Taurus deliveries.
Ukraine has been calling for long-range modern German cruise missiles of the Taurus type for some time now. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock remains cautious. Sensitive questions would have to be answered, “which is not as simple as it might sound at first glance,” the Green politician said after a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Washington last Friday. She added that intensive consideration was being given to the matter.
Supports position of the Chancellor
Speaking to the Welt television station, Foreign Minister Baerbock also said that she supports the Chancellor’s stance of only making decisions in solidarity with the United States. “We are working hand in hand with the Americans on this. That’s why the Americans’ decisions also play into it.” Baerbock added that there would continue to be a close exchange, just as was the case with the Leopard 2 tanks.
