According to its own information, the Ukrainian army has successfully taken under its control the long-contested village of Uroshayne in the course of its counteroffensive in the southern region.
“Uroshayne is liberated,” announced Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maljar on the social network Telegram, according to the German news website tagesschau.de. Ukrainian forces are said to have reinforced their positions on the outskirts of the locality. According to the morning report of the General Staff in Kyiv, alleged Russian counterattacks on the site were successfully repelled. Direct military information about the frontline situation often cannot be confirmed immediately. However, experts analyze movements based on photographs or videos from the battlefield.
This information comes from a party to the conflict and has not yet been independently verified and/or confirmed. For this reason, they are to be evaluated with reservations. Under certain circumstances, it can be advantageous for warring parties to make false statements about the course of the conflict in order to strengthen their own position or to weaken that of their opponents.
