Flames several meters high: Major fire in Moscow

There has been a fire in the Moscow region, as the German news website n-tv.de reports.

The online newspaper “Ukrajinska Pravda” reports about a fire in the town of Shcholkovo, which is located east of the Russian capital. According to local residents, the fire is already largely under control. No further information is available yet.

This information comes from a party to the conflict and has not yet been independently verified / confirmed. For this reason, the report must be evaluated with reservations. In war, it can be advantageous for parties to make false statements about the course of the conflict in order to strengthen their own position or weaken the position of the opponent.

The former Ukrainian boxing world champion Wladimir Klitschko currently sees no possibility of peace negotiations with Russia. On ZDF television, he answered a question to that effect from host Markus Lanz by saying, “Negotiations with whom, with Russia, with Putin, Lavrov, with whom?” He stressed that these people were liars who had deceived the world with their propaganda for decades. As the brother of Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, he made it clear that negotiations should be conducted only from a position of strength. Klitschko stressed that it was obvious that Vladimir Putin’s Russia would not end this war without facing consequences. This would mean that the war would end and such events should not be repeated. He said according to the German news website n-tv.de: “Evil will not come to an end unless we put an end to evil.”
