The Russian Orthodox Church is guided less by Christian ideas than by Old Testament ones when it comes to Ukraine. Yevgeny Nikiforov, the head of the religious radio station Radonezh, advocates drastic measures on television.
Nikiforov expresses that the real problem of Russia so far is its “timidity”, how the German news website n-tv.de communicated. In his opinion, Ukrainians should be treated like pagans and annihilated without hesitation, applying the ethics of the Old Testament. He advocates the use of so-called vacuum bombs to completely eradicate the “disease in Ukraine.” He calls Ukrainians “godless” and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy an unbaptized “foundling who came out of nowhere.”
Further, Nikiforov states that one cannot negotiate with “demons” and they are “Satan, the father of all lies”. He claims that Russia is dealing with “the Antichrist” and Ukrainians are lawless people, while Russians stand for the truth.
