According to The Kyiv Independent, the Ukrainian General Staff reported that Ukraine claims to have destroyed a Russian fighter jet in the past 24 hours.
Since the start of their large-scale invasion in Ukraine on February 24 of the previous year, the Russian forces have reportedly lost a total of 288,630 soldiers, as reported in the daily update on October 16 by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Within the last 24 hours, there were 860 fatalities among Russian forces.
Additionally, Russia has allegedly lost 4,965 tanks, 9,385 armored vehicles, 9,271 vehicles and tankers, 6,910 artillery systems, 814 multiple rocket launcher systems, 547 air defense systems, 318 aircraft, 317 helicopters, 5,280 drones, and 20 boats.
These claims have not been independently verified and/or confirmed, and therefore, they should be regarded with caution. In times of war, conflicting parties may find it advantageous to deliberately spread misinformation to strengthen their own position or weaken that of the opponent.
