In just 24 hours: Putin loses hundreds of soldiers

The Ukrainian General Staff has said that Russia has already lost 263,490 soldiers since the war of aggression against Ukraine began in February last year.

This includes the 470 soldiers who have fallen in the past 24 hours. According to The Kyiv Independent the General Staff also reported the Russian loss of 4,459 tanks, 8,613 armored combat vehicles, 8,009 vehicles and fuel tanks, 5,530 artillery systems, 735 multiple rocket systems, 500 air defense systems, 315 aircraft, 316 helicopters, 4,421 drones, and 18 boats.

According to some media reports, including from n-tv.de Ukraine attacked the military part of an airport in the Russian border region of Kursk with a new type of drone a few days ago. Ukrainian media, citing sources at the SBU intelligence service, report that a total of 16 missiles made of cardboard, which are said to be difficult for air defense systems to locate, were used last Sunday night. Five Russian warplanes and several air defense systems are said to have been damaged in the process in Kursk. The information has not yet been independently verified. In addition, Russia has apparently withdrawn various air defense systems from its Far East to protect itself from Ukrainian attacks in the west. Several S-300 systems had reportedly disappeared from the southernmost islands of the Kuril archipelago. The Kuril Islands are claimed by both Russia and Japan.
