In the aftermath of the headquarters attack: Commander of the Russian Black Sea fleet loses life

After rumors had already circulated about the death of the commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the Ukrainian army now confirmed that it had killed Admiral Viktor Sokolov during an attack.

On September 22, it was reported that he was killed in a Ukrainian air raid on the Black Sea Fleet headquarters in Sevastopol. It is stated that a total of 34 Russian officers died in the attack, and another 105 occupants were wounded. The Ukrainian army’s special operations forces announced in a Telegram post that the headquarters building cannot be restored, Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform reported. Moscow reported only one missing person after the attack, as the German news website n-tv.de reported.
