The Ukrainian Military Intelligence (HUR) has released a video (click here for the video), in which, according to their claims, the landing of Ukrainian special forces on the Russian-annexed Crimean Peninsula is shown. This is reported by the German news website n-tv.de.
According to the intelligence agency, the units inflicted a ‘defeat by firepower’ on the Russian military. No information was provided regarding when the alleged landing took place. In the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the Ministry of Defense in Moscow announced that the Russian Air Force had thwarted an attempt by a ‘landing group of Ukrainian armed forces to penetrate the territory of Crimea.’ The soldiers were reported to have used ‘a high-speed military boat and three jet skis’ towards Cape Tarchankut in the northwest of the peninsula.
These claims come from a party involved in the conflict and have not been verified and/or confirmed by an independent source. For this reason, they are to be considered with reservation. In times of war, it can be advantageous for parties involved in the conflict to deliberately spread misinformation to strengthen their own position or weaken that of the opponent.
