ISW: Russia in Distress in Kherson offensive

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) has reported that the Russian military leadership is likely to face difficulties in responding with adequate troops to the ongoing Ukrainian offensive in the Kherson region.

According to the ISW’s latest report as cited by n-tv.de, the Russian command may face the challenge of relocating units from other front sections if the relatively combat-incapable Russian formations and the currently unengaged Russian forces in Kherson prove insufficient to respond to Ukrainian operations on the east bank of the Dnipro River.

Russia continues to gather forces for support

Furthermore, the ISW notes that Russian forces continue to gather strength for support in areas around Avdiivka and for offensive operations in the Kharkiv and Luhansk regions. The ISW highlights that any potential Russian redeployment towards Kherson would likely impair Russia’s ability to support these other operations and efforts.
