Russian forces’ ground assaults near Avdiivka and Marinka on the western outskirts of Donetsk have failed, according to the U.S. Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
“Russian forces continued unsuccessful ground attacks along the Avdiivka-Donetsk city line,” according to the ISW. Also, Russian forces failed to regain lost territory near Novomychailivka, about 36 kilometers southwest of Avdiivka. According to Ukrainian military reports, Russian forces suffered setbacks near Klishchiivka and east and southeast of Bohdanivka (seven kilometers northwest of Bakhmut), as the German news platform n-tv.de communicated.
This information has not yet been independently verified / confirmed. For this reason, the report must be evaluated with reservations. In war, it can be advantageous for parties to make false statements about the course of the conflict in order to strengthen their own position or weaken the position of the opponent.
