ISW: Significant Progress of Ukraine in Zaporizhzhya Oblast

Imagery analyzed by the Institute for the Study of Wars (ISW) confirms that Ukrainian forces have reached the northern outskirts of Robotyne in the western Zaporizhzhya oblast.

Robotyne is located 10 kilometers south of Orikhiv. The ISW added according to The Kyiv Independent however, added that the duration and extent of the Ukrainian positions were as yet unclear. Ukrainian forces have been conducting regular ground assaults on Robotyne for weeks in an effort to weaken Russian defenses. “The ability of Ukrainian forces to penetrate the outskirts of Robotyne, which are defended by Russian forces at considerable cost in terms of time and resources, remains significant, although Ukrainian successes are currently limited,” the experts said.

Advance also in settlement Urozhaine

Geographical footage released on August 11 showed that Ukrainian forces had also advanced into the settlement of Urozhaine, located about nine kilometers south of Velyka Novosilka on the border between Donetsk and Zaporizhzhya regions. Russian military bloggers claimed that Ukrainian troops pushed Russian troops back into the settlement on August 10-11. The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Ukrainian forces continued their counteroffensive toward Bakhmut, Berdiansk (Donetsk Zaporizhzhya oblast border area), and Melitopol (western Zaporizhzhya oblast).
