ISW: Ukrainian army continues to advance

Soldiers of the Ukrainian army managed to continue their offensive operations in Zaporizhzhya oblast and advance further on September 10. This reports The Kyiv Independent with reference to a report by the Institute for the Study of War.

For example, geolocated imagery reportedly shows that Ukrainian forces have made progress east of Novoprokopivka (18 kilometers southeast of Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhya oblast).

Ilya Yevlash, spokesman for Ukrainian forces in the east, reports that Ukrainian forces also achieved an unspecified success near Klishchivka, about seven kilometers southwest of Bakhmut in Donetsk oblast.

The Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley, believes that Ukraine likely has 30 to 45 days to mount its counteroffensive before the weather on the ground deteriorates. He goes on to explain that Ukraine’s counteroffensive, launched in the summer, has been slower than expected, but Ukraine is still advancing at “a very steady pace through the Russian front lines.”
