ISW: Ukrainian troops advance in Bakhmut

The US think tank “Institute for the Study of War” (ISW) reports progress of the Ukrainian troops in the vicinity of Bakhmut.

The report states: “Ukrainian forces advanced near Bakhmut on October 29th and continued their offensive operations near Bakhmut and in the western Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Geolocated images released on October 29th show that the Ukrainian forces pushed beyond the railway line south of Andriyivka (10 km southwest of Bakhmut).”

Furthermore, the think tank explains: “The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Ukrainian forces continued their assault operations south of Bakhmut and towards Melitopol (western Zaporizhzhia Oblast). A prominent Russian military blogger claimed that Ukrainian forces gained control over unspecified positions in the direction of Zaporizhzhia (western Zaporizhzhia Oblast) over the past week.”
