According to official statements from Kyiv, it was reported that 870 Russian soldiers were lost within a single day during the course of the war, as reported by the German news website n-tv.de.
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported that since the beginning of the conflict in February 2022, a total of 294,700 Russian soldiers were “eliminated,” meaning they were either killed or incapacitated. In addition to this information, the Defense Ministry regularly published reports on Russia’s losses, indicating that the enemy, among other things, lost twelve more tanks (a total of 5,093). Since the start of the Russian invasion, Ukraine has counted over 9,600 armored vehicles and more than 5,300 drones that are no longer in Russian military possession or have been destroyed.
These claims have not yet been verified and/or confirmed by an independent party. Therefore, they should be considered with caution. In war, it can be advantageous for conflicting parties to deliberately spread misinformation to strengthen their own position or weaken the opponent’s.
