Massive Russian Attacks: 58 Assaults with 347 Shells

According to Ukrainian reports, Russian forces attacked the Kherson region a total of 58 times in the last 24 hours.

This information was announced by the Governor of the region, Oleksandr Prokudin, on Telegram. Reports indicate that during these attacks, 347 shells were fired from “mortars, tanks, drones, and aircraft.” The affected areas include residential districts, administrative buildings, a store, a medical facility, gas stations, and a car wash, as reported by the German news website n-tv.de. The governor reported six deaths as a direct result of the Russian attacks and ten injured, including a child.

These claims have not yet been independently verified or confirmed. Therefore, they should be considered with caution. In war, it can be advantageous for conflicting parties to deliberately spread misinformation to strengthen their own position or weaken that of the enemy.

Additionally, Russia plans to strengthen its air defense in the Central Federal District, as announced by the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Nikolai Patrushev, according to Russian media. Patrols have also been deployed to protect critical infrastructure facilities, as reported by Patrushev. He emphasized that measures have been taken to prevent arson and other destructive actions against these facilities, as the German news platform n-tv.de reported. The Russian government is also funding the establishment of “territorial defense lines” along the areas bordering Ukraine. The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) interprets this announcement as a response to Ukraine’s recently hinted intention to attack Russian supply routes in rear areas during the winter.
