Multiple explosions: Black smoke over Moscow

Once again, the Russian capital Moscow seems to be hit by the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. This is reported by the former Deputy Interior Minister of Ukraine, Anton Herashchenko.

Via the Short message service X, formerly Twitter, Herashchenko writes: “Russian media report explosions in Moscow and black smoke rising into the air near the Ostankino TV tower.” To this Herashchenko posts a video that is supposed to prove the statements. The Ostankino television tower can be seen at night. Nearby, clouds of smoke can be seen rising. In the background, sounds can be heard that could come from explosions or a gunfight.

In recent weeks, Moscow has increasingly become the target of drone attacks. While there is little strategic value in such attacks, they could prove psychologically valuable. Ukraine itself often keeps a low profile when it comes to attacks on Russian state territory. Among other things, it has had to promise Western partners not to attack Russian territory with their weapons.
