Power outage after drone strike on Russian territories

According to statements by the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russian air defenses have successfully repelled several Ukrainian drone attacks on targets in the Belgorod and Kursk border regions.

At least eleven drones were destroyed, according to the German news website n-tv.de. In a separate message on Telegram, the ministry announced that seven drones were shot down over Belgorod and four over Kursk. After the Ukrainian drone strike, seven localities of the Russian Kursk region experienced a power outage. This information was announced by the region’s governor, Roman Starovoit, on Telegram. During the attack, a substation was damaged, however, there were no casualties, it says, according to the German news platform tagesschau.de.

This information has not yet been independently verified / confirmed. For this reason, the report must be evaluated with reservations. In war, it can be advantageous for parties to make false statements about the course of the conflict in order to strengthen their own position or weaken the position of the opponent.
