In the last 24 hours, the Ukrainian army has repelled 56 attacks by the Russian military, as reported by the German news website n-tv.de.
There were a total of 61 engagements between Ukrainian and Russian troops. The situation in the east and south of the country remains extremely tense, as reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Facebook. In addition, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with ten Shahed drones and one Kh-59 missile. According to the situation report, six drones and the missile were successfully shot down.
Furthermore, the Ukrainian domestic intelligence service (SBU) has detained an agent of the Russian intelligence service (FSB). This agent had provided Russia with information about the positions of the Ukrainian forces and coordinated, for example, missile attacks on Kyiv on New Year’s Eve 2022, as reported by the state Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform, citing the SBU.
These claims have not yet been independently verified and/or confirmed. Therefore, they should be considered with caution. In war, it can be advantageous for conflicting parties to deliberately spread false information to strengthen their own position or weaken that of the opponent.
