Report shows: Asylum granted to 90 Russian conscientious objectors so far

A report by the Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschlands shows how many Russian conscientious objectors were granted asylum in Germany.

According to the Redakionsnetzwerk Deutschland (RND), there were around 3,500 men of military age who applied for asylum in Germany. The record has been valid since the beginning of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine.

Only 90 people receive protection status

The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees has already decided on a total of more than 1,500 of the applications. Around 90 people have been granted protection status, according to the newspapers. This is according to a response from the Federal Ministry of the Interior to a parliamentary question by Clara Bünger, a member of the Bundestag for the Left Party, which was made available to RND.
