Russia Deploys ‘World’s Best Tank’ – But It Ends in Catastrophe

The Russian President Vladimir Putin once announced it as the “world’s best tank”: The Russian T-14 Armata. Now, there are doubts about this claim, as reported by the German news website merkur.de.

In mid-July, the Russian news agency Tass reported that the T-14 Armata was being used in the war against Ukraine by the Southern Combat Troop. However, this deployment was short-lived, as the agency reported in early September that it had already been withdrawn. According to the British Ministry of Defence, the T-14 models used in Ukraine do not meet the usual standards in terms of equipment. The deployment was likely carried out only for propaganda purposes. The production, according to the British Ministry of Defence, is “only in the low tens, while commanders will probably not trust the vehicle in combat.”

Ilya Onegov, a representative of the responsible tank manufacturer, explains that the Armata tank has been used several times in the war zone of Ukraine and that they will now improve the vehicle based on the results of its deployment.
