Russia is ramping up: Shoigu calls for increased production of fighter jets

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has called for increased production of fighter jets. This reported n-tv.de According to a statement from the Russian army.

Shoigu stated that these combat aircraft of the Su-34 type had the “most work” and conducted “four to five flights a day.” The Russian Defense Minister made this statement during a visit to an aircraft factory in the Siberian city of Novosibirsk. Shoigu reportedly instructed the “factory management to advance production and repair work” on Su-34 fighter jets as they are “highly in demand.”

The German Bundeswehr has invoked further artillery ammunition deliveries from the contract with Rheinmetall. According to n-tv.de, the arms company has been tasked with delivering tens of thousands of L15 projectiles for the Ukrainian armed forces and conventional 155mm Assegai projectiles for the German armed forces. This delivery is expected to take place in the course of 2024. Just in July, Rheinmetall announced another order from the Bundeswehr for the supply of combat and training ammunition. The company stated that the need to replenish ammunition depots arose from the war in Ukraine.
