Russia launches attacks on Ukraine – but they turn into a total disaster

Russia fired 31 Shahed drones and one Iskander-K ballistic missile into Ukrainian territory during the night of October 2nd to 3rd. This is reported by The Kyiv Independent, citing information from the Ukrainian Air Force.

According to Ukraine, they were able to shoot down 29 out of the 30 Shahed drones. The Iskander missile was also successfully intercepted.

However, the Russian attacks during the night did not go without consequences. The Kyiv Independent refers to the governor of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Serhij Lyssak, who stated that a drone and other debris from the downed drones had entered a factory, causing a fire and other damage. Damage to civilian infrastructure due to debris was also reported elsewhere in Dnipropetrovsk, but there were no reported casualties according to initial information.

These reports come from one party involved in the conflict and have not been independently verified or confirmed. Therefore, they should be treated with caution. In times of war, it can be advantageous for parties involved in the conflict to deliberately spread misinformation to bolster their own position or weaken that of their opponent.
