Russia loses hundreds of soldiers in just a few hours

The Ukrainian General Staff has announced in its latest update that Russia has lost 610 soldiers in just 24 hours.

Like The Kyiv Independent reported, this brings the total number of losses to 266,900 soldiers. Furthermore, according to the report, Russia also lost 4,506 tanks, 8,703 armored combat vehicles, 8,217 vehicles and fuel tanks, 5,722 artillery systems, 753 multiple rocket systems, 506 air defense systems, 315 aircraft, 316 helicopters, 4,541 drones and 19 boats.

Ukraine’s new defense minister, Rustem Umerov, has announced plans to introduce an electronic military ID card. In addition, a unified register of conscripts is to be created. His predecessor, Oleksii Reznikov, had held the post of defense minister since November 2021. However, Reznikov’s tenure at the Defense Ministry was marred by several scandals related to the procurement of equipment and materials for Ukrainian soldiers.
