Russia Sends Its Shaheds into Ukraine – But Putin’s Attack Ends in Disaster

Once again, Russia has targeted Ukraine with Iranian Shahed drones. The Kyiv Independent reports this, citing Ukrainian Air Force officials and a Telegram post.

According to Ukraine, they managed to shoot down 90% of the Shahed drones launched by Russia in the recent drone attack on early November 1st, thanks to their air defense systems. The statement reads, “A total of 18 out of 20 Shahed-136/131 attack drones were shot down. A Kh-59 guided missile was also destroyed.” The attack was launched from the Kursk region in Russia. In Krementschuk, a city in the Poltava Oblast, one of the drones struck an oil refinery, causing a fire.

These reports have not yet been independently verified or confirmed. Therefore, they should be regarded with caution. In times of war, it can be advantageous for parties involved in the conflict to deliberately spread misinformation to either strengthen their own position or weaken that of their opponent.
