Russia announces that the Ukrainian counter-offensive has been stopped, as reported by the German news website n-tv.de.
In an official statement, Evgeny Balitsky, the high-ranking official appointed by Moscow in the Zaporizhzhia region, announced that the enemy has been stopped and the much-discussed Ukrainian counter-offensive is now completely suppressed. There are still some minor skirmishes near the villages of Robytne and Shcherbaky.
However, on Sunday evening, the Ukrainian General Staff stated that Russian forces had made unsuccessful attacks near Robytne and Verbove, a village a few kilometers east of it. Ukrainian forces had carried out “offensive operations” towards Melitopol in the west of the Zaporizhzhia region and had exhausted the enemy along the entire front line there.
These statements have not yet been independently verified or confirmed. Therefore, they should be treated with caution. In war, it can be advantageous for the parties in conflict to deliberately spread false information to strengthen their own position or weaken that of the opponent.
