Russia: Ukraine attacks Crimea – but it ends in a disaster

On Aug. 25, 2023, the Russian Defense Ministry says its air defense forces destroyed 42 drones launched by Ukraine over the illegally annexed Crimean Peninsula and one missile over Kaluga Oblast. This reports The Kyiv Independent.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, nine drones were destroyed by air defense forces, while 33 drones were disabled by electronic warfare and missed their target.

Mikhail Razvozhaev, head of the Russian occupation government of Sevastopol, says that Russian air defense shot down some drones on the outskirts of the city. According to initial information, no damage or casualties were reported in the attack.
