Russian soldiers flee Bakhmut: “We are sent to certain death”.

It seems that a group of Russian soldiers is making serious allegations against the Russian military leadership, as the German news platform n-tv.de reports.

In one video, the men appear and state that they fled the front line due to new orders after the infantry at Bakhmut was “all but wiped out.” In the video, the soldiers explain, “Hello everyone. We are soldiers of the 1442 regiment. We are fighting in the Bakhmut region […]. We have fulfilled our duty. Our infantry was killed practically completely.”

It goes on to say: “We fled. We left our weapons behind. We were abandoned, left to certain death. […] People flee, hang themselves already. […] We do not abandon our duties, and we never have. We are only sent to certain death. All of us. We are artillery. And without ammunition…”

This information comes from a party to the conflict and has not yet been independently verified / confirmed. For this reason, the report must be evaluated with reservations. In war, it can be advantageous for parties to make false statements about the course of the conflict in order to strengthen their own position or weaken the position of the opponent.
