A prominent proponent of propaganda for Russian President Vladimir Putin is TV host Vladimir Solovyov. His programs reach a large audience of millions of viewers.
Anton Gerashchenko has now published a video on platform X in which Solovyov threatens Germany. Gerashchenko writes: ‘Attention, Germany! Russian propagandist Solovyov threatens that ‘Berlin will burn’ while shouting insults to Annalena Baerbock, German Minister for Foreign Affairs. He drops all pretenses to be polite.’
In the video, Solovyov says: ‘Annalena Baerbock, listen up you German idiot. You will see how, due to your corrupt stupidity, Annalena Baerbock, Berlin will burn and there will be a victory banner over the Reichstag!’
In past editions of his broadcast TV show, Vladimir Solovyov, a close confidant of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has repeatedly speculated that Germany might soon be ‘under the Russian flag.’
In war, it can be advantageous for conflict parties to deliberately spread false information to strengthen their own position or weaken that of the opponent.
