The Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu stated that the Ukrainian armed forces have suffered massive losses since the beginning of their major offensive.
According to Russian accounts, these losses include a high number of human casualties and substantial material losses. In a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Shoigu, cited by Tagesschau and referring to the TASS news agency, reported that the Ukrainian forces have already lost around 1500 armored vehicles. However, Shoigu did not provide further information regarding Russian losses in the clashes.
These claims have not yet been verified or confirmed by an independent source. Consequently, they should be considered with caution. In war, it can be advantageous for conflicting parties to deliberately spread false information to bolster their own position or weaken the opponent’s.
