“Supporting Terrorism”: Russia meets with Hamas in Moscow

Russia held talks in Moscow with a delegation from the militant Islamist group Hamas to discuss the release of foreign hostages in the Gaza Strip, according to the German news platform tagesschau.de.

Musa Abu Marzook, who is part of the leadership of the militant Islamist terrorist organization, participated in the meeting. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that during the meeting, issues concerning the evacuation of Russian and other foreign nationals from the Palestinian Gaza Strip were also discussed. Israel condemned the meeting in Moscow and called on the Russian government to expel the Hamas terrorists immediately. Israel views Hamas as a terrorist organization and holds it responsible for numerous attacks and acts of violence in which Israeli citizens were killed or injured.

Russia justified holding the talks in Moscow, as reported by the German news website tagesschau.de. Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for President Vladimir Putin, told the news agency Reuters that Russia believes it is necessary to maintain contact with all parties in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
