Russian soldiers were reportedly killed while trying to inspect a Ukrainian kamikaze drone, according to the German news website n-tv.de.
The Kyiv Post, citing a source in Ukrainian military intelligence, reports that the Russian air regiment initially intercepted the drone over the Russian city of Kursk near the Ukrainian border. After the regiment’s leaders and members of the FSB gathered to examine the drone and take photos, it exploded, the report said. According to the source, several people were killed in the incident, including the commander of the 14th Aviation Regiment, one of his deputies, and several officers.
