Ukraine cheers: Putin’s “Triumf” destroyed

Anton Gerashchenko, the former Deputy Interior Minister of Ukraine, announced on the short messaging platform X, formerly known as Twitter, that Ukraine has destroyed a strategically important Russian air defense system.

Gerashchenko wrote: “On October 30, the Ukrainian armed forces destroyed a Russian strategic air defense system on the west coast of the temporarily occupied Crimea. Previously, on October 25, our defenders destroyed a strategic S-400 (Triumf) air defense system near the temporarily occupied Luhansk. Glory to the Ukrainian defenders!”

The S-400 Triumf system is often referred to as the “NATO nightmare” in the media, as reported by the German news platform FOCUS. It is a versatile ground-based air defense system capable of combating cruise missiles at various altitudes. In addition to defending against medium and long-range ballistic missiles, this air defense system is also capable of intercepting drones and even fighter jets.
