Ukraine displaces Russia: 240 square kilometers liberated

According to information from Kyiv, Ukrainian forces liberated about 15 square kilometers from Russian occupation during their counteroffensive last week.

According to a message posted by Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maljar on Telegram, of the liberated areas during the counteroffensive, about 12.6 square kilometers are accounted for by sections on the front line in southern Ukraine. This reports the German news platform n-tv.de. In addition, in the eastern Ukrainian region of Donetsk, another two square kilometers near the Russian-controlled city of Bachmut had been added. In total, just over 240 square kilometers have been liberated since the counteroffensive began about eight weeks ago.

In addition, Russia has lost 246,190 troops in Ukraine since the start of its large-scale invasion on February 24 last year. This includes 490 casualties suffered by Russian forces in the last 24 hours alone, as The Kyiv Independent reported. According to the report, Russia also lost 4,211 tanks, 8,188 armored combat vehicles, 7,292 vehicles and fuel tanks, 4,816 artillery systems, 699 multiple rocket launchers, 460 air defense systems, 315 aircraft, 311 helicopters, 4,017 drones and 18 boats.
