Ukraine Halts Massive Russian Offensive and Neutralizes Numerous ‘Shaheds’

The Ukrainian air defense announced that they had successfully shot down 41 out of a total of 48 Russian drones last night, as reported by the German news website n-tv.de among others.

No information was provided about the fate of the remaining drones or the possible impact of the attack on people or infrastructure. The Ukrainian Air Force reports that all Russian attack drones were Iranian Shahed kamikaze drones. According to reports by “Kyiv Independent”, these were sighted in the regions of Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, and Kherson.

It is noted that Moscow has been targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure for some time using cost-effective Shahed drones from Iran. President Volodymyr Zelensky characterizes the drone attacks as a deliberate act of terror.

These statements have not yet been independently verified and/or confirmed. For this reason, they should be considered with caution. In war, it can be advantageous for conflicting parties to deliberately spread misinformation to strengthen their own position or weaken that of the opponent.
