Russian forces have launched offensives in three oblasts of Ukraine in recent days – including Kharkiv, Luhansk and Donetsk regions. They have all been unsuccessful, The Kyiv Independent reports with reference to information from the Ukrainian General Staff on August 17.
During the day there were 24 battles, while the Russian forces also launched four missile attacks and 37 air strikes. More than 15 settlements were hit in Kherson oblast, and more than 20 in Zaporizhzhya oblast.
At the same time, Ukraine continues its offensive operations in the direction of Berdiansk and Mariupol, according to the Ukrainian General Staff. Further, the General Staff states that Ukrainian forces destroyed two Russian Ka-52 combat helicopters during the day. They are also known as “Alligator” and are the advancement of the Kamov Ka-50, also called “Black Shark.””
