Ukrainian ambassador accepts prize and asks Germans for “trust”

The Ukrainian ambassador to Germany accepted the Leibniz Ring on behalf of the Ukrainian people.

Accordingly, the Hanover Press Club honored the people of Ukraine with this award for their resistance against the invasion by the Russian military in February 2022. The Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany, Oleksii Makeiev, accepted the Leibniz Ring in Hanover on behalf of the people of Ukraine.

Request for trust

The ambassador also asks for the Germans’ trust in a post on the former Twitter news service, now known as X. Here Makeiev refers to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, who said that Ukraine will “win”. “I say almost the same thing to the Germans: trust us, believe in us and be proud of yourselves – it is their help that makes our victory possible,” the Ukrainian ambassador said in his post.
