Ukrainian Defense Minister Understands Hesitation on Taurus Delivery

Dmytro Kuleba, the Ukrainian Minister of Defense, emphasized that he does not feel any weakening of international aid to Ukraine – despite the war in the Middle East.

According to n-tv.de he stated on Maybrit Illner’s ZDF show that he does not see any decrease in the support from partners in any form. Kuleba indicated that Kyiv has received assurances at all levels that the support for Ukraine would continue. Regarding the discussion about the delivery of Taurus missiles to Ukraine, he said he understands that Germany needs more time to make this decision.

For him, it is clear that the range argument makes no sense, it is about trust. Ukraine has promised that this type of weapon would not be used on Russian territory, Kuleba said: “We stand by our word.” Moreover, Germany has already trained over 8,000 Ukrainian soldiers since the beginning of the war. “The Bundeswehr, together with our partners, has already trained over 8,000 Ukrainian soldiers in Germany,” said the head of the Special Staff Ukraine at the Ministry of Defense, Major General Christian Freuding, according to n-tv.de to “Stuttgarter Zeitung” and “Stuttgarter Nachrichten.”
