Ukrainian drone pilot mistakenly targets own territory – and is praised for it

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared a video on Platform X, formerly known as Twitter, allegedly showcasing successful Ukrainian drone strikes near Tavriia in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

The video captures multiple explosions of Russian military vehicles. Accompanying the video, Zelenskyy writes, “Our drone strikes on military targets. Thank you to our brave soldiers for their precision! Keep it up!”

A consultancy reports that maritime traffic in the Black Sea has been disrupted due to a shipping route established by Ukraine, according to the German news website n-tv.de. This interruption stems from security concerns by the Ukrainian government, as stated by the Kyiv-based consultancy Barva Invest on Telegram. Consequently, traffic to and from the ports will be temporarily suspended on this Thursday. However, there is a possibility that this suspension might be extended, the company mentions. The Ukrainian authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the matter. Ukraine had set up this corridor after Russia withdrew from the agreement for the safe export of grain through the Black Sea last summer.
