The USA has adopted a new package of sanctions against Russia. This has been met with a bitter response from the Kremlin leadership.
Moscow has accused the USA of “chaotic, illogical” sanction policies in light of the new penalties catalog. According to n-tv.de, Moscow’s ambassador to Washington, Anatoli Antonov, stated that the aim of the new “head-on attack” by the USA is to damage Russia’s economy, break the country’s internal unity, and affect its citizens. Antonov also indicated that the damage to Western countries would be greater than that to Russia itself.
Zelensky welcomes the sanctions
The diplomat claimed that cutting off the last ties to the resource power Russia, with its rich natural resources, does not help the world economy out of its “pitiable state”. With its new package, the USA has imposed punitive measures against individuals, companies, and institutions that support Russia in their war against Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, on the other hand, welcomes the new sanctions. He has described the new package as “very powerful.” “The power of sanctions is the strength of the world,” says Zelensky according to n-tv.de in his evening video message.
