Once again, there is smoke visible over the Crimean Bridge, as reported by the media project NEXTA on the microblogging platform X.
NEXTA writes: “Smoke is visible over the Crimean Bridge again. Local media previously reported the passage of rockets over Sevastopol. An air alarm was declared in the city.” NEXTA also posts a video showing parts of the Crimean Bridge disappearing behind a wall of white smoke. Exact details regarding the cause and extent are not yet known. An attack is a possibility but has not been confirmed.
Throughout the year, there have been several attacks on the Crimean Bridge. Not only does the Crimean Bridge hold significant symbolic value for Russia, especially for Russian President Vladimir Putin, but it is also of strategic importance in the context of the Ukraine conflict. This is because the Crimean Bridge is the only connection between the Russian mainland and the illegally annexed Crimea peninsula.
