Baerbock promises expansion of the EU: “From Lisbon to Luhansk”

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has pledged to expand the European Union, with a particular focus on Ukraine, which is currently in conflict with Russia. This information comes from NEXTA.

Via the Network X, NEXTA reports, citing the German BILD: “The German foreign minister promises an expansion of the EU ‘from Lisbon to Luhansk.'” Additionally, Baerbock is quoted as saying, “The future lies within the European Union, within our community of freedom, and it will soon extend from Lisbon to Luhansk.”

NEXTA also notes, “She emphasized that Ukraine is progressing toward EU membership every day by ‘pushing Russian troops back from its (Ukrainian, ed.) territories.'”

Luhansk is the capital of Luhansk Oblast in Ukraine, with a population of approximately 400,000. On the previous Monday, a significant number of EU foreign ministers convened in Kiev for a meeting, although Hungary and Poland were represented by delegates rather than their foreign ministers.
