British intelligence: Putin confronted with a powerful counteroffensive

According to British intelligence, Russia has deployed fresh troops to Ukraine much earlier than originally planned. This reports the German news platform n-tv.de.

“It is likely that the units were rushed in, in part because Russia continues to struggle with an overstretched force on the front lines and Ukraine continues its counteroffensive on three separate axes,” the British Ministry of Defense said.

As recently as August, there were recruitment advertisements for the new Russian 25th Army claiming that the force’s deployment to Ukraine would not begin until December. However, it is now reported that the first units have “very likely” already been deployed to Ukraine and are stationed in the occupied territory of Luhansk in the east of the country.
